With the wide use of prepaid credit cards with no fees and the rising cases of card fraudsters who hack the system to access and extort funds from unsuspecting individuals there is a need to secure all types of credit cards. There are of simple steps that one can consider increasing his chances of having their credit cards protected.
These tips are universal and they are
- As soon as you receive your card then make sure that you sign it. This will need the clerks to be on the lookout on these during transactions.
- Whenever using your card at an ATM, then you have to ensure that your PIN entry does not leave a trail to anyone who would try to memorize your keystrokes.
- Never leave your receipt behind on at a lobby. Important details on them may leave a trail for the fraudsters use to get you. Shred them first before discarding.
- Keep a list of your credit card numbers and toll free numbers for a situation like if your card is stolen then you can stop its use.
- Keep track on the checking of your monthly installments so that you confirm if all the charges are your own. Notify the issuers quick in case of abnormalities.
- Always ensure that after any purchase you get your card back.
- Ignore any offers on credit cards that prompts you to spend the money upfront or if it does not show the cards issuer.
- You should never read out your credit card number over the phone unless you initiated that phone call. Those whose intentions are not good can receive your voice then you end up loosing your money.
Prepaid credit cards with no fees offers one the opportunity to use discernment to secure his or her money and have an easy time when making purchases rather than cower out of fear and stick to the cumbersome cash payment modes.
